The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA): The aircraft manufacturing giant employs around 16,000 people in the St. Louis metro area, where it makes fighter jets and other defense-related aircraft.

Enterprise Mobility: The Clayton-based rental car firm based is the St. Louis region’s largest privately held company with more than $35 billion in annual revenue. It’s also the region’s 16th largest employer, with 5,000 of its 90,000 employees located in the region, according to data provided a year ago.

Reinsurance Group of America (NYSE: RGA): Based in Chesterfield, RGA is one of the world’s largest providers of reinsurance, often referred to as insurance for insurance providers. It was the region’s fourth-largest public company in 2023 with $18.57 billion in revenue, a figure that rose last year to $22.1 billion. It employed 4,100 people globally, according to regulatory filings from late February.
