Student Worker, University Advancement
Duties and Responsibilities:
University Advancement is seeking to hire Washington University students. Position will vary based on the time of the year and project priorities within University Advancement. Duties could include assisting with data entry, filing, mailings, research, database work, and help with special projects and reports. Duties may also include support of university events including: assisting with event preparation, set-up, and tear-down; providing onsite support during events; running errands on campus and other duties as assigned. Typical hours will be between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm but also could include work on evenings and weekends during support of events.
University Advancement is dedicated to strengthening the university and its worldwide network of alumni and friends. Our purpose is to secure resources to assist Washington University in St. Louis in fulfilling its mission of teaching, research, and community service. We advance the university’s mission through fundraising and other engagement programs that promote awareness, understanding, involvement, commitment, and advocacy on the part of our constituents.
Qualifications:
- Exhibit leadership potential and initiative
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and possess the following personal qualities: Dependable, mature, punctual, organized, approachable, patient, positive, open-minded, and dedicated
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment as well as with a diverse group of people, including staff and alumni
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Must be in good standing at the university with regards to discipline history
